CocteauFest 2005 Review

"Overall, I had entirely too much fun. I can’t wait for next year’s fest! In thinking about the Fest, here is what I have come up with. We all got together because we like the same music, well, at least one band. But what makes an event like this, and a webiste like this, work is the generally high quality of niceness amongst CT fandom. Let me offer a counter example. I am a big fan of The Orb, and I get their fan mailing list in order to stay on top of what the band is up to. I would not, however, travel across the country to meet those people. Wierdly enough the vast majority of Orb fans appear to be angry, lonely, stoners. I don’t want to hang out with them. But the people on this site, well, I do want to hang out with you people. I did hang out with many of you, and it was really cool. Cover bands were nice, the music was great, but what really made it for me was talking to all of the assembled fans. You people rule. Really."
